Starting November 5, individuals with international interline tickets transiting to a third country (region) within 24 hours through Nanjing Lukou International Airport without leaving the airport may be exempted from immigration inspection procedures.

The announcement, made by the National Immigration Administration on November 3 as part of its 10 New Measures to Support the Expansion of Opening-up and Serve High-quality Development, extends the 24-hour visa-free direct transit policy to 10 more airports across China, including Nanjing Lukou International.

As Jiangsu's largest air gateway, Nanjing Lukou International Airport currently operates 34 international routes, connecting to major destinations such as Paris, Melbourne, and Sydney, as well as popular routes across Asia.

Thanks to the growing impact of visa exemption policies, the popularity of cultural and tourism campaigns such as the Su Super League, and the continuous expansion of international routes, Nanjing has seen a notable rise in foreign arrivals this year. Around 74,000 foreign visitors entered Jiangsu visa-free between January and October, a surge of 219% year-on-year, including 38,400 for tourism and 23,900 for business, up 171.6% and 452.7%, respectively.
